And with this love song to you
It’s not a momentary phase
You are my life, I don’t deserve you
But you love me just the same
And as the mirror says we’re older
I will not look the other way
You are my life, my love, my only
And that’s the one thing that won’t change

Growing up, I’ve heard so many stories of young high school sweethearts getting married & living happily ever after. I’ve admired these couples and found them to be some of the sweetest and strongest relationships I’ve ever witnessed. Nowadays, it seems like high school sweethearts tend to far & few between. They are rare. But every once in awhile, a love story begins that will sustain the trials of high school and college and will last a lifetime.
Amber & Cory dated during high school & college. After years of proms & formals, on October 4th, 2013, Cory asked Amber to be his wife. She said yes.
I have to say, they make an incredible couple. I’ve known Amber nearly my entire life, and I have never seen her more complete or happier than I have when I saw her with Cory. Their love is evident in their actions & words.
Together, the two have a passion for Haiti, and a passion for Christ. Their love for Him was clear throughout the course of their wedding day. The day they wed wasn’t crammed with the excessiveness of life, but was overflowing with love for life & one another.
I have to admit, I was absolutely freaking out the day of their wedding. It was raining. More like a torrential down pour for a good bit of it. However, I said a little prayer, asked for some advice from friends, & hoped for the best. That prayer must have helped because God provided a beautiful evening that cleared up about 15 minutes into our outdoor photos.
God surrounded this day in every which way.
Without further adieu,
Amber had some pretty great Bridesmaids. Karen is such a happy & hilarious lady.
Amber & Cory have a heart for the children in Haiti. They both have gone on several trips to an orphanage to help out. When you hear them talk about the kids in Haiti, they light up. I’ve never seen anyone so excited to get back to work and live out James 1:27. The orphanage has certainly made an impact on their lives, and they really wanted to incorporate them into their wedding day. When you first walked into reception hall, they had a collage of black & white photos of them with the kids at the orphanage along with several trinkets from Haiti. It was definitely one of the most unique set ups I have ever seen. Such a thoughtful way of including people that are thousands of miles away.
Quick fun fact #2: Amber & Cory only spent a few days of their honeymoon at a resort, then went to the orphanage. I’ve never seen couples have such a devotion to a mission. I was incredibly encouraged by this act of selflessness.
Quick fun fact #2. All of the bridesmaids have been to the orphanage in Haiti, and each have a heart to serve Christ. Amber wanted to capture their faces as they saw the reception hall for the first time. Their reactions were priceless.
Quick fun fact #3: Amber & Cory incorporated the kids into their day by having them take pictures with numbered burlap. These served as table numbers for the reception. on the flip side of these pictures were Amber and Cory’s engagement photos that I had taken back in November.
Quick fun fact #4: They had their entire ceremony skyped over to the orphanage. Talk about awesome!!!
Thank you Cory & Amber for entrusting me to capture your day! It was an absolute blessing and I wish you the very best in your marriage!
xoxo
