Lincoln Park Morning Engagement Session | Chicago Wedding Photographers

This past September I finally got to meet our rad couple, Paul & Nicole. While they are getting married in Cleveland, they live in Chicago and wanted to have their engagement session in the Lincoln Park area. We planned for an early morning Lincoln Park Engagement Session, and hoped that the weather would be kind to us.

When I arrived in Chicago, I had some [a lot of] time to spare. I had never been to Chicago before and wasn’t sure what to expect. To be honest, I was a little intimidated to even leave the airport.

I worked at the airport for awhile, and then finally called an Uber to take me to Anthropologie. I walked through the city and window shopped at some of my favorite stores, grabbed some ice cream and finally it was time to check in to my room at Claridge house. Side note: Highly recommend this place. Great food, clean, and really cool decor.

I went to bed super early so I would be rested and ready for Paul & Nicole’s morning engagement session. Walking down to the lobby, I looked out the window and saw Nicole waving from her car.  Having only talked to them on the phone, it was so great to finally put names and faces and personalities all together.

Paul had put a ton of thought into where he wanted to take their engagement pictures. Having thought ahead about areas that weren’t busy in the morning, he led us around and was such a visionary!  Honestly, we should probably just hire him as our visual creative director.

As the sun got higher in the sky, we found ourselves on the beach with all the warm sunshine rays, seeing the best view of the city. SO pretty.

After their engagement session, Paul & Nicole treated me to breakfast at a fantastic breakfast place called, Y0lk. As we sat and chatted, I really was just so blown away that we get the opportunity to get to know so many different couples that we never would have met. The fact that I was sitting in Chicago, casually sharing a piece of red velvet french toast with two awesome people really just makes me appreciate our job. What a crazy and wonderful life we get to experience.
