Michael & Jen’s Romantic Cleveland Wedding at the 100th Bomb group was gorgeous. As we all know, Covid-19 hasn’t been the kindest to the wedding world. It has been difficult for our couples as they have had to rethink all of their wedding plans. When I talked to Jen a month before their wedding, there was still quite a bit up in the air. Originally they had planned for a wedding reception at the classy Old Courthouse in Cleveland. Unfortunately, the plans had to change. Keep in mind that Michael & Jen are both teachers who were finishing up their semesters! But with a lot of effort and last-minute planning, they pulled off their Romantic Cleveland Wedding swimmingly.
Michael & Jen’s wedding day started off at a beautiful Airbnb in Cleveland Heights. As I walked in, the house was bustling with all of the girls working on their hair & makeup. Jen being the awesome bride she is, was sitting in front of a window, carefully applying her own makeup. It was flawless! Soon, it was time for her to get into her dress. Her sister and her mom helped her carefully slip into her gorgeous gown by Allure Bridals. Jen had the most beautiful bridal details, from her earrings, hairpiece, and bracelet. The necklace she wore was the same necklace her mother had worn at her wedding!
After getting dressed, she went outside so her dad could see her in her dress for the first time. It was so special! After a fantastic reaction from her bride’s maids first looks, Jennifer opened a letter and gift from Michael. Before she even opened the gift she knew it was a beautiful Rosary that she had wanted. Talk about being perfect for each other!
At the wedding ceremony, their friends and family gathered, socially distanced, of course, to celebrate their marriage. Their ceremony was at Holy Rosary Church in Little Italy. It’s a parish that has been a part of Michael’s family for 100 years, since the time his family came to America from Italy. Several of his family members had been married there as well, and it was so special to be part of such a tradition.
After mass, their friends and family cheered them on as they exited the church. We made sure to recreate a photo of Michael’s grandparents at the top of the balcony. After family portraits, we headed to E 9th pier, on the lake. There we took photos in front of the Cleveland sign, as well as snuck in a few bocce ball throws, in true Michael & Jennifer style.
We then headed to the Cleveland Museum of Art to photograph some classy photos at Wade Oval Lagoon. It was a gorgeous summer day, so a stroll by the pond was perfect! We ended our group photos at The Old Courthouse. While they couldn’t have their wedding there, we were able to grab some photographs and also recreate a wedding photo from Michael’s parent’s wedding. Finally, we headed to E 4th Street to grab a few photos of Michael & Jennifer and Michael’s old roommate. They had lived at an apartment on E 4th when Michael & Jennifer first met, so it had a lot of sentimental value.
It was finally time to head to Michael & Jennifer’s Romantic Cleveland Wedding reception at the 100th Bomb Group. The venue overlooks the Cleveland Airport! When Michael & Jen snuck a peek at their reception space before the guests got there, they were so happy. While it wasn’t what they originally planned, it was still timelessly gorgeous!
A few notes from Jen:Â
Share your inspiration and the atmosphere you’re creating for your wedding:
Our original inspiration was to make the wedding classy and elegant, but at this point we are just elated that it is happening, so we are going for a joyful atmosphere. At the church, we hope to showcase reverence and beauty, and at the reception in the evening celebrate the fact that we are married (and were actually able to get married!).
Don’t plan a wedding during a pandemic! If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans 😉
What was your favorite part of the planning process?
Picking music, food tasting, engagement photos. For Jen: dress shopping 🙂
