July 28, 2017
Jake & Jacqueline’s industrial wedding at Windows on the River was a dream to photograph. Every piece of their wedding day was filled with a bunch of [Greek] love. I initially met Jake & Jacqueline last year at their engagement session. Immediately, I knew that they were the real deal. They have that crazy-about-you love. Wild, adventurous, and “nobody else but you” kind of love.
They both attended Miami University. After various interactions and run ins, eventually they started to hang out. Jacqueline went on Spring break with Jake and as they would say,  “the rest is history.” Fast forward to Christmas of 2015. Every Christmas Jacqueline’s mom hides a pickle ornament in the tree and whoever finds it first wins a prize. Jacqueline said that she was taking off her heels and was ready to find that ornament and win! But when she ran into the living room, it was front and center. Beside it was a glass ornament with paper inside saying: Will you marry me?  She found Jake on his knee, and that was the start to their forever. You should have heard them tell this story. They were so excited to share!
A year and a half later, on July 2nd, 2017, they said I do. The day started with Jacqueline getting ready with her ten bridesmaids. As her bridesmaids finished their hair and makeup, Jacqueline paced excitedly. She was so ready to see Jake and marry him. She kept saying that she had excited butterflies.
As Jacqueline’s mom and maid of honor helped her into her wedding dress, you could see Jacqueline turn into a bride. She slipped on her lace, blue bottomed Betsey Johnson heels and stood tall. And you could see the moment when the bride realizes she’s actually marrying her best friend.
When she walked down the aisle, Jake had the biggest and brightest smile. Jake is a pretty fun guy. He is always smiling and having a good time. However, when he saw Jacqueline, it was a smile so wide and excited.
After their [big, fat] Greek wedding, we headed to downtown Cleveland to get some photographs. We started at the Hyatt Hotel in the Arcade. Such a beautiful building! Next, we went to Rock Hall of Fame. We had gone there for Jake and Jacqueline’s engagement session, and it was so much fun to revisit with them on their wedding day!
After their group photographs, we headed over to the wedding venue: Windows on the River. If you’ve never been, it’s essentially an industrial lover’s dream.
About fifteen minutes before dusk, we headed out for a few minutes of peace and quiet with the bride and groom. Golden hour offered the softest of sunlight for their bridal portraits. Because windows on the river is on the water, it provided the perfect backdrop for Jake and Jacqueline. They’re huge fans of boating and spend quite a bit of time on the water.
Their wedding day was so special and full of tradition.
Jake and Jacqueline, we are SO very happy for you. We love you both so much and cannot wait to see what life holds for you. You are both so unique, kind, and a joy to be around. We were so honored to be your wedding photographers. Wishing you the best that life has to offer and then some. You both deserve it!
